5 Sentence Fiction - SHADOW

Soft sunlight casts my shadow before me as I walk. It is the shape of my being, and like me, it is empty.
In my minds eye, I fill the shape with dreams of running, dancing.  Being full.
I stop on the path and watch as it slowly fades to nothing with the setting of the sun.

  1. Ah, empty shadows to be able to fill with dreams. Wonderful take on words. What's fading the shadow or the dreams? I really like this one. There is loads there to consider...

    1. Thanks, Barb. I really appreciate you liking how I left it open-ended, so you could interpret it how you liked.

  2. It felt sad to me...like you were filling the shadows with dreams only to see them disappear again. Could go either way. I like your telling of the story.
